VETERANS RESOURCE

Qualified Listeners is a Veteran Support Program in Northern Colorado. They interact with 300 Veterans each month.
Dickey's Barbecue Pit has been a part of the Greeley community since 2011. Owners Derek and Jennifer O'Hara opened the first location at 2331 23rd Ave in July 2011 and opened their west location, 6628 W 10th St, in February 2015. They love serving up their slow-smoked Texas style barbecue to the community they have called home for over 20 years. Giving back to the community and charitable organizations has always been a part of their business plan. Sponsoring High Plains Honor Flight is especially important to them, as Jennifer's dad is a proud veteran of both World War II (Army) and the Korean War (Air Force). Joseph Zito, a resident of Windsor, CO, enlisted in the Army when he turned 18 and served overseas. He later joined the Air Force Reserves and served in Korea as a flight engineer during the Korean War. Joseph was on an Honor Flight in 2013 and was overwhelmed by the entire experience. Jennifer recalls, "Our family was so touched at the send-off ceremony, and my dad was in awe of the entire experience. He had never been honored for his service as much as he was in those 2 days."
